v1.4.0 — A heads-up on temporary email addresses

September 11, 2026

This release adds a couple of friendly nudges to help keep you from accidentally locking yourself out of your own account down the road.

Account safety heads-up

  • If the email address you sign up with looks like it might be a temporary inbox, you'll now see a note explaining that if it expires, you won't be able to reset your password or recover your account without contacting support.
  • The same heads-up shows up if you upgrade to Warren using a temporary-looking account email, since that's also the inbox your billing receipts and payment notices go to.

Net effect: this is just a heads-up, not a restriction, you can still sign up or upgrade with whatever address you like. It's there so a forgotten, expiring inbox doesn't end up costing you access to your own account later.

v1.3.0 — Smarter spam detection and a faster setup flow

August 26, 2026

This release tightens up spam detection, gives you a way to correct it when it gets something wrong, and trims a couple of rough edges out of the day-to-day dashboard flow.

Faster recipient setup

  • Adding a new recipient now takes you straight to that recipient's detail page instead of leaving you on the list. Your new API key and setup snippet are right there, ready to copy, no extra click to go find them.

Cleaner notification emails

  • Notification emails no longer repeat the form's subject line in the message body. It's still set as the actual subject of the email, it just isn't duplicated again underneath the submitted fields.

Smarter spam detection (Warren)

  • Added a new detection signal for unsolicited sales and SEO pitches (things like "I help local businesses rank higher on Google"). This is one of the most common flavors of contact-form spam, and since it usually has no links or obvious spam keywords, it was slipping through before.
  • Flagged submissions now show a plain-language reason, so you can tell at a glance whether something was caught for looking like spam or for looking like a sales pitch.
  • New "Not spam" button on any flagged submission. If it was already delivered and just flagged for review, this clears the flag. If it was blocked before it ever reached your inbox, marking it "Not spam" delivers it right then. One caveat: if the original submission had a file attached, only the message can be recovered for a blocked submission, not the file itself.

Net effect: spam detection catches a common category of junk it was missing before, and when it gets a call wrong, you're one click away from fixing it yourself instead of losing a real lead.

v1.2.0 — Auto-confirmation emails for Warren

August 21, 2026

Until now, only the recipient got an email when a visitor submitted a form. This release adds an optional second email that goes straight back to the visitor, confirming their message made it through.

What's new

  • Auto-confirmation emails, Warren-tier only: toggle it on per recipient (off by default), so you can enable it for one client's site without touching any others on the account.
  • Custom subject and message body, both optional. Leave either blank and Formgopher falls back to a default ("Thanks for reaching out to {Business Name}." for the subject, "Thanks for reaching out! We've received your message and will get back to you soon." for the body).
  • Every confirmation email carries a fixed, un-removable disclaimer noting that it's automated and shouldn't be replied to, so visitors never mistake it for a real reply thread.
  • Spam-aware: if a submission is flagged by spam protection, the confirmation is skipped while the primary email to the recipient still sends as normal, keeping Formgopher's sending reputation clean.
  • The Submissions log now shows whether each confirmation email sent or bounced, a quick way to catch a visitor who mistyped their address.

Net effect: visitors get instant reassurance their message went through, and you get one more signal, right in the log, if their email address was wrong to begin with.

v1.1.0 — Better inbox deliverability

August 11, 2026

A couple of accounts flagged that Formgopher's notification emails were landing in spam despite delivering successfully. This release fixes that directly, and adds a safety net so one bad recipient address can't drag down delivery for everyone else.

Dedicated sending domain

  • Notification emails now send from relay.formgopher.com instead of the root formgopher.com domain, fully verified with SPF and DKIM. This keeps the sending reputation for form-submission traffic separate from Formgopher's main domain and marketing site, so nothing about one recipient's mail affects the other.
  • Each recipient's outgoing mail now carries its own unique sender address instead of all recipients sharing one, so a delivery problem can be traced back to the specific recipient responsible for it.

Automatic bad-recipient suppression

  • If a recipient's destination address triggers a spam complaint, or bounces repeatedly (three hard bounces), Formgopher now automatically deactivates that recipient rather than continuing to send into a dead or complaining inbox — protecting deliverability for every other recipient on the account.
  • When this happens, the dashboard tells you: an "Inactive (auto)" tag in the recipients list, and an explanation on the recipient's detail page, so it's clear the recipient wasn't manually turned off.

Net effect: better inbox deliverability overall, and if something does go wrong with a specific recipient's email address, you'll find out from the dashboard automatically instead of quietly missing leads.

v1.0.0 — FormGopher is live

August 1, 2026

Formgopher is a simplified, self-hosted alternative to form backends like Web3Forms or Formspree: create an account, add a recipient, get an API key instantly, and drop a snippet into any static form. No account or email verification required on the receiving end. Here's everything in this first release.

Recipients & keys

  • Add a recipient (a name and a destination email) and get a live API key immediately, no waiting on an email confirmation from the inbox that receives the mail.
  • Lock a key to one or more domains with allowed origins, so it can't be reused elsewhere.
  • Revoke a key any time from the dashboard without affecting your other recipients.

Drop-in forms

  • Copy-paste snippet generator for both a plain HTML <form> and a fetch()-based version.
  • Plain HTML forms now work end to end with no JavaScript at all: submit a static form and Formgopher can redirect the visitor straight to a thank-you page on your own site, or fall back to a built-in confirmation page if you don't set one.
  • Every notification email has its reply-to set to the visitor automatically, so replying to a lead is just hitting reply.
  • Built-in honeypot spam trap on every submission.

Submission log

  • Per-recipient log of every submission: delivered, failed, or blocked, with the failure reason and originating domain shown.
  • Submissions are retained for 12 months, then purged automatically.

Warren plan

For higher volume and a few extra features, upgrade to Warren ($12/mo or $120/yr):

  • Unlimited recipients and a much higher monthly submission cap.
  • CC up to 4 additional addresses per recipient.
  • File attachments up to 5MB, with a File Manager tab to browse and delete anything sent through your forms (stored files expire automatically after 90 days).
  • Spam detection: submissions are flagged (or blocked outright, your choice per recipient) based on link count, keyword matches, and burst activity from the same visitor.

Account

  • Full Stripe-backed billing, upgrade or downgrade any time.
  • Delete your account and all associated data whenever you want.
  • A help center for setup questions.
